Party cell of Van Lang was established in April, 1977 with 6 members (included lecturers, staff of Van Lang)
- Oct, 2000, Party cell was upgraded to Party Committee with 38 members divided in 3 Party cells.
- Jan, 2003, Party Committee had 49 members divided in 5 Party cells (1 Party cell for students).
- March, 2008, Party Committee had 70 members divided in 6 Party cells (1 Party cell for students)
- Jan, 2017, Party Committee had 92 members divided in 6 Party cells (1 Party cell for students)
- Party Committee of Van Lang university is a political nucleus leading the Party members to implement the Party's policies and laws; to fulfill its obligations to the government; to protect the rights and benefit of members and to build a strong Party.
- During their operation, the Party Committee combines with the Board of Directors, the Youth Union and the Students Association to build and develop Van Lang University.

Trade Union
- Feb, 1996, Labor Union of Ho Chi Minh City recognized the Trade Union Executive Committee with 5 members.
- Jun, 1998, the first Trade union Congress (1998 - 2000) was organized.
- Trade Union of Van Lang University together with the Board of Directors, lecturers, staff and students works hard to build and develop the University. The Trade Union also protects rights and benefit of the labors in the University.
- Jan, 2017, The Trade union had 495 active members.
