This trip is an award for the best performing students in 2019-2020 and also a support for their studying in architectural history and construction design.

Tran Ngoc Nhan - sophomore of Architecture shared about his trip to 3 location: Ton Thanh Pagoda (My Loc, Can Giuoc District), Relic of the House of Hundred Pillars and Rach Cat Fort (Long Huu Dong, Can Duoc District): “We excitedly started going to Long An from Van Lang University Campus 1. Firstly, we came to an old pagoda named TO DINH TON THANH. We were welcomed by Ms. Trang - a member of Can Giuoc district historical relic conservation area. She enthusiastically told us about historical events that the pagoda went through from the start.

Especially the right statu must be cast 3 times and he cut his finger to put in the casting pot with the intention to make the statue as his wish

After 60 minutes at Ton Hanh Pagoda, we said goodbye to Ms. Trang and abbots, took a photo then went to the next destination. We came to Cau Ngang Hamlet, Long Huu Dong Commune, Can Duoc District, Long An Province to go sightseeing the Relic of the House of Hundred Pillars which is more than 100 years old.

Ms. Chin Ngo - 4th generation granddaughter of the great great-grandfather Tran Van Hoa (house owner) welcomed here. Although it has gone through over a hundred years, the house has survived almost intact despite the rain of bombs and bullets during the fierce war. This house is not only a historic relic but also a precise ancient asset. We also had an opportunity to broaden our knowledge about Vietnamese construction design of previous periods then have more motivation to pursue a career.

The final destination is Rach Cat Fort, a French military fortress built in 1903 for defense located at Long Ninh Hamlet, Long Huu Dong Commune, Can Duoc District, Long An Province. I truly felt the loss that war made for Vietnamese here.

We said goodbye to all soldiers and heroes who had fought for our peace now and gave them a deep gratitude. At Rach Cat Fort, we were not allowed to take photos, but the nostalgia would stay forever in our hearts.
