(Van Lang, September 3rd 2019) “A truly meaningful cognitive training trip” – this is the common feedback of Honor Training class members who are the Van Lang University’s sophomores of Tourism after returning from a five- day internship in Thailand.

In order to improve the experience of the hotel and tourism operation activities, the Van Lang University’s sophomores of Fourism Faculty who are attending the Honor Training Program had a chance to take part in a cognitive practice trip in Thailand organized by the Faculty. The goal of the cognitive practice trip is to increase tourism experience in one of the most developed tourism countries - Thailand, learning professional skills from the senior tour guides and hotel staff. Five days in Thailand helped the students become more aware of their career. There were 48 members in the trip, including 16 students of Hotel Management and 32 students of Tourism and Service Management.

Places such as: Tiger Zoo; Pattaya City with Walking Street, Khao Chee Chan Buddha – where the statue of Golden Buddha laser carved and inlayed with gold on Khao Chee Chan Cliff; Silver Lake vineyard. All the members had a chance to have lunch buffet at 5-star Baiyoke Sky Restaurant which has 86 floors – a wonderful place for panoramic view of Bangkok City. After that, they also took a boat ride on Chaopraya River, watching the Temple of the Dawn (Wat Arun).

Through the trip, the members not only visited some famous landmarks, experienced travel services and enjoyed the cuisine in Thailand, but also learned a lot from the way Thai people did tourism. Each member wants VLU to offer more interesting and rewarding learning opportuinities for students. The first oversea trip of the whole class was truly a cognitive training practice!
