Along with Van Lang community spreads spirit “Sharing is caring”

(VLU04/8/2021) These difficult days of the Covid-19 pandemic bring people anxiety, fear and insecurity. But somewhere in the midst of difficulties, there are still glittering golden hearts, sharing examples and spreading the spirit of optimism and community cohesion. Besides the support activities provided by the University, Alumni Association, Faculties, Departments, and Organizing Committee, and many Van Lang individuals have also been "rolling out", actively supporting society with their best. They are quiet and do not need anyone knowing, or not on behalf of the organizations, with their own long-term "campaigns".

MSc. NGUYEN HUU BINH AND LOVE VEHICLES

With the wish "No one is left behind due to the epidemic", throughout June, July, and before that, MSc. Nguyen Huu Binh, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Love Bus, an organization founded by him and his associates, belonging to the Ho Chi Minh City Sponsor Association for the Poor, called for sales to raise funds in order to give away hundreds of gifts including food and cash for the poor, the homeless, the disabled, and students with difficult circumstances.

Along with the charity organization, he also gave more protective clothing and gifts to the doctors, nurses of Thu Duc Field Hospital, cooking for children at the Oncology Hospital, underprivileged children in the orphanage and many other cases in need of help.

THE FACULTY OF LAW’S STUDENTS EXPAND POSITIVE VALUE TO COMMUNITY

As a final year student of the Faculty of Law, and one of three founders of Van Lang Law Training, Investment and Consulting Co.,Ltd., Nguyen Huu Phu and his colleagues are ready to deduct the company's monthly revenue to donate nearly 100 gifts to homeless people. “We always keep in mind that the company's top mission is to be responsible to the society, especially difficult situations. Moreover, as Van Lang final year students, we also want to spread meaningful things to the students of the next class. It is during this epidemic season that homeless people are the victims who suffer many disadvantages. Helping them is also joining our hands to help the whole country quickly fight the epidemic." – Phu shared.

In addition to volunteering, during the epidemic, Phu and his colleagues also regularly provide free legal advice to the poor and visually impaired, and guide difficult cases to receive Covid-19 support and other legal administrative procedures.

STUDENT NGUYEN QUYNH THU – SMALL ACTION, HUGE MEANING

Returning to Phu Yen during the epidemic, Nguyen Quynh Thu, 24th class of Public Relations, member of the Executive Committee of the Social Work Team also became F2 and isolated at home, while her mother was F1 and went to concentrated isolation zone. Quynh Thu confided: “That was also the time when the local Youth Union recruited volunteers to participate in epidemiological investigation, but I could not participate. So I waited for the end of my quarantine period to quietly run a small campaign of my own to help people in my area.”

With two million dongs borrowed from her father, Quynh Thu alone brought 400 packages of noodles and 4 cartons of milk then packed them into 64 small gifts, giving them to households with elderly people and children in her area. She supported more motivation to Phu Yen people feel secure to isolate and overcome the epidemic season.

MR. LAM “BUTT PIPE” AND SENTIMENTAL ATTACHMENT TRAVEL

During the city's quarantine against the epidemic, from the beginning of July 2021, the 17th class of Industrial Design’s alumnus, Pham Tung Lam with nickname "Lam butt pipe" has had "sentimental attachment trips", roaming around Saigon on a Cub 82 motorbike to give masks, milk and food to the homeless who are having difficulty during the epidemic season. There were times when it was difficult to move because of inconvenience during the epidemic season, some people gradually lost their patience and lack of restraint when receiving supplies, but after all, Mr. Lam still go and continued to do his support work on the roads because "when you are healthy, you can go and live without shame".

MSC. DOCTOR NGUYEN THI VIET PHUONG JOINS THE FIRST FRONT TO FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19

During the time when Ho Chi Minh City became the epidemic center and suffered heavy damage, with a sense of responsibility and dedication, MSc. Doctor Nguyen Thi Viet Phuong, Deputy Head of Internal Medicine Department from Faculty of Medicine, registered to join the support force for medical units in District 10 and District 11. She is  in charge of outside work and online consultation for people during this epidemic period, directly witnessing and being "exhausted" with the spinning machine at the frontline which is straining against the epidemic.

Currently, Doctor Viet Phuong is participating in the Medical Team of Van Lang University to provide online consultations for examination, treatment and Covid prevention guide through telephone, Zalo and Facebook, to support the School’s lecturers, staff, students and their relatives remotely during the epidemic season.
