(VLU, 25/05/2021) - As a part of the Creative Camp and Seminar “Graphic Art Vietnam - International 2021”, on 27 April 2021, the seminar focusing on the development in graphic arts in the new period of 2020 - 2025 was organized at VLU with the participation of local and international scientists, artists and lecturers.
On 21 April, VLU’s Faculty of Fine Arts and Design in collaboration with HCMC Fine Arts Association and HCMC University of Fine Arts had organized the international seminar welcoming artists, scientists and talented lecturers from Thailand, Laos, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. This event provided the opportunities to exchange the roles and importances of graphic arts in modern arts; the history of graphic art development in Vietnam and worldwide; current circumstances and solutions, training methods, graphic arts and the environment.
The seminar “Graphic Arts in Vietnam - International 2021” welcomed many local and international artists and experts in the Fine Arts field.
Seminar “Graphic Arts in Vietnam - International 2021” welcomed many local and international scientists, artists and Fine Arts lecturers to listen and exchange the artistic perspectives under the management of the Committee including well-known artists and critics in the field, which were:
- Dr. Nguyen Xuan Tien - Chairman of HCMC Fine Arts Association;
- Dr. Nguyen Van Minh - President of HCMC University of Fine Arts;
- Dr. Nguyen Xuan Nghi - Representative from VLU’s Faculty of Fine Arts and Design;
- Dr. Nguyen Nghia Phuong - HCMC University of Fine Arts.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Tien reported that this year’s Creative Camp received 105 works including 22 ones from international authors.
The seminar covered the reports for 10 nominated papers among 40 submitted one delivering the perspectives and researches focusing on Graphic Arts in different cultures and artistic lives. Besides, this event also allowed the artists to exchange cultures with international delegates to broaden the knowledge in graphic arts and education trends in foreign countries.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Nghia Phuong opened the reporting sessions with the paper on “Graphic Arts in contemporary context” depicting the perspectives in considering the terms, definitions and definition extensions to this type of art.
The foreign artists and researchers actively contributed and exchanged academic ideas in the virtual seminar.
The event will introduce the exhibition for 105 submitted works both virtually and physically to practice easy approaches for foreign audiences. Of which, the offline exhibition will take place at HCMC Fine Arts Association (218A Pasteur, Ward 6, District 3) from 30 April 2021 to 10 May 2021.
