(VLU - April 13rd, 2021) - On the evening of April 9, 2021, Van Lang University together with Trinh Cong Son’s family organized a concert in commemoration of the 20th death anniversary of musician Trinh Cong Son with the theme "Vietnam sunrise mornings". The songs performed are famous ones by Trinh Cong Son, directing people to happiness, balance and belief in a bright future.
Trinh Cong Son's concert at Van Lang University in 2021 is the second performance in a series of programs "20 years remembering Trinh Cong Son" that will take place in many provinces in the country: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Binh Duong, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Da Lat,... This is the second time the show has been organized, since the first Trinh Cong Son's music night - "Connecting big arms” was held at the end of September 2019.
Dr. Nguyen Cao Tri - Chairman of Van Lang University, said: “The mission and philosophy of Van Lang Education Group is to bring positive impacts and inspire the community. The Fame Garden on the roof of the hall where you are sitting has an engraved word “Danh” (reputation), in the saying "You must have the reputation of making a contribution to your country since you were born on earth". We believe that education must nurture human values, foster compassion for others and love for the homeland, build up national pride in each person. These are also good values that Trinh's music wants to spread. Putting it into the school space is not only about naming the hall or organizing music nights, but we are trying to convey the humanistic spirit and educational values in the Trinh Cong Son’s heritage to the students, helping the young generation know how to love, how to live, how to deal with the country, nature, life and death, to enrich the behavioral culture of each person" .

For nearly 3 hours, the audience has enjoyed the special performances of musician Trinh Cong Son. The program brought together famous singers and artists such as Duc Tuan, Lan Nha, Tan Son, Kyo York, Hoang Trang, Nguyen Dong, Nhu Hai Yen, Ha Vi, Saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan and his daughter An Tran, dance group LYRICÍST - Winner of Super 24 contest in 8th season.

Singer Ha Vi - Lecturer in Vocal Music (Faculty of Applied Arts, Van Lang University) performed the song "Ru ta ngam ngui". It is about someone’s lives, but actually his life, as Trinh Cong Son said.
On the stage, singer Kyo York brings a new atmosphere with the familiar song "Quynh Huong".
Singer Kyo York also performs "Nhu canh vac bay" about the women with ups and downs in their lives. The songs were written by Kyo York himself with English lyrics.
Following the sweet melodies, the hall is full of the joyful atmosphere of the song "Hue - Saigon - Hanoi" by rapper Ha Le. Ha Le's creativity brings a new perspective on its contemporary in particular and Trinh music in general. Also, Ha Le renewed the song "O tro", cheering up more than 1,500 guests in Trinh Cong Son Hall.
Not only Ha Le, in recent years, many other young singers have created impressive contemporary shades for Trinh music. The concert "20 years of remembering Trinh Cong Son - Vietnam sunrise mornings" featured An Tran - the daughter of saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan. She is the youngest saxophonist in Vietnam, Ambassador of the scholarship foundation Trinh Cong Son - a typical example for the new generation of Trinh singing, contributes to bring Trinh Cong Son's music to spread widely to domestic and international audiences.
An Tran collaborated with Tran Thai Son - a Vietnamese beatboxer won the golden trophy at the recent Asia Beatbox Championship 2018 in the Loopstation category to perform the song "Ngau nhien" with a youthful and fresh style.
Hoang Trang - Nguyen Dong, singer and guitarist performed 2 song “Dung lai nguoi, dung lai nha” and “Ta thay gi dem nay”. Hoang Trang's vocal style touched the audience's feelings.
Singer Hoang Trang fully expressed the patriotic spirit of Vietnamese people in “Dung lai nguoi, dung lai nha”.
Musician Tan Son - a close member of musician Trinh Cong Son's family is also the content editor of the concert "20 years remembering Trinh Cong Son - Vietnamese sunrise mornings''. He has been with Trinh music for nearly 20 years and during the past few years, he has accompanied tribute programs to the late composer. With the group “Du ca”, he held music nights in many provinces to spread Trinh music widely to the public.

Continuing with the contemporary dance genre, the young dancers of the dance group The Lyricist brought a different version of the songs "Diem xua" and "Cung se chim troi”.

The music space became quiet when singer Lan Nha showed his deep, thoughtful voice with the songs "Mua hong" and "Chieu mot minh qua pho".
Artists Tran Manh Tuan and his daughter, An Tran attracted the attention of a large audience with saxophone performances in the songs "Cat bui" and "Ha Trang". He is also the music director of many Trinh Cong Son music programs, including a music night "20 years remembering Trinh Cong Son - Vietnamese sunrise mornings".
At the end of the night, the inspirational voice of singer Duc Tuan takes the audience into the diverse music space of the late composer Trinh Cong Son, with some unknown songs "Ta on" and "Chieu tren que huong toi".
The concert fully ended with the harmonious melodies of the song "Connecting the big arms". Not only today, the songs of the late musician Trinh Cong Son will also touch the hearts of music lovers with lots of various perspectives on people, life, love, country, homeland,...
Together with the event series of 20 years remembering Trinh Cong Son, a movie about his life named "Em and Trinh" by famous artists such as director Phan Gia Nhat Linh, producer Nguyen Quang Dung, musician Duc Tri, creative director Ha Do, photography director Nguyen Vinh Phuc, photography director- light director Dominic Pereira, "image witch" Truong Huyen Duc..., with cast Tran Luc, Avin Lu, Lan Thy, Hoang Ha, Pham Nhat Linh will be released at Christmas 2021.

On April 22, 2019, during a visit to the campus 3 of Van Lang University, the family of musician Trinh Cong Son agreed with the leaders of Van Lang University on his name for the university's hall. In September 2019, Van Lang University and musician Trinh Cong Son's family held a Music night "Connecting Big Arms" to launch the first Trinh Cong Son Hall in Vietnam. Every year, music events commemorating musician Trinh Cong Son will be held at this hall. This is the chance for VLU's students to access and learn different types of culture and arts as well as spreading the love of Trinh music among young people.
