Opening Ceremony for Preliminary Accreditation Assessment for the training programs in Business Administration, Commerce, Architecture, and BioTechnology

(VLU05/01/2022) - From January 3rd to 7th, 2022, the Preliminary Accreditation Assessment Delegations from the Center for Education Accreditation (under the Vietnam Association of Universities and Colleges) conducted an official evaluation at Van Lang University for accrediting purposes for 4 undergraduate training programs, including Business Administration, Commerce, Architecture, and Biotechnology.

On 03/01/2022, Van Lang University was honored to welcome the Preliminary Accreditation Assessment Delegations from the Center for Education Accreditation (under the Vietnam Association of Universities and Colleges) to officially evaluate the four undergraduate training programs in Business Administration, Commerce, Architecture, and Biotechnology.

The members of the Preliminary Accreditation Assessment Delegation for Van Lang University’s program consisted of:

At the Opening Ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phuong Nga – Director of CEA, Supervising Advisor of the Preliminary Assessment Delegation gave her opening speech: “I have a strong belief in the significant pace of development of Van Lang University, exampled by considerable achievements and innovations. Our Preliminary Assessment in 2022 marks the commencement of a new year of a great cultural journey to international standards that Van Lang University is marching on.”

During their duty at Van Lang University, the Preliminary Assessment Delegation should carry out certain activities, including analyzing the self-assessment profiles; proofing documents from the Business Administration, Commerce, Architecture, and Biotechnology programs; interviewing program’s self-assessing committee, Chiefs of the Division, staff, lecturers, students; surveying the studying facilities for undergraduate training programs.

Previously, the Business Administration, Commerce, Architecture and Biotechnology programs of Van Lang University had completed the program’s self-assessing report based on specific criteria, including Education outcome; Program’s syllabus, Curriculum’s contents and structure, Approaching methods in teaching and learning; Student assessment, Facilities, and equipment, Quality Enhancement, Graduate’s quality.

According to the MoET’s regulations for the process and circulation to accredit undergraduate training programs, preliminary assessment consists of the activities involving evaluating education quality based on the academic standards issued by MoET to identify the satisfaction of a particular program.

The official results of the Preliminary Assessment for the four training programs in Business Administration, Commerce, Architecture, and Biotechnology at Van Lang University should be announced in the Closing Ceremony on January 07th, 2022.

Previously on December 16th, 2021, the Preliminary Assessment Delegation took a survey at Van Lang University according to the preliminary assessment process regulated by the MoET.

The year 2021 marked major accreditation milestones for Van Lang University, including:

  • In June 2021, Van Lang University successfully achieved national accreditation for three training programs, including Tourism Management, Civil Engineering, and Finance – Banking.
  • In October 2021, Van Lang University was officially awarded the QS Stars’ 4-star ranking by QS UK. This result is also the highest evaluation possible for Vietnamese institutions. Van Lang University was the first Vietnamese university to acquire the QS’s 4-star ranking in the first assessment.
