Students of the Faculty of Law learn the human resources trends (HR trends) after Covid-19 times

(VLU, 13/11/2021) - With the desire to help students have an overview of the current labor market, answer questions about employment trends, allocate human resources (HR) after Covid-19 times, on November 10, 2021, the Postgraduate Training & Management Department in conjunction with the Faculty of Law, Van Lang University (VLU) organized an online seminar "post-Covid-19 human resource trends".

Facing the Covid-19 impact, the employment problem of students after graduating from Law and the fields of professions in general has changed, becoming a worry for young people looking for development opportunities. The online seminar "Post-Covid-19 human resource trends" with the guidance of Van Lang University’s lecturers and the Judge – Mr. Hoang Huu Thanh – Judge, People’s Court of Ho Chi Minh City, received the attention of more than 200 students of the Course 23, 24 (K23, K24) from the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Economic Law.

According to Judge Hoang Huu Thanh, the global Covid-19 pandemic has brought many changes in society, while tightening the needs and recruitment standards of many fields. Over the long term, it shows the importance of mastering information technology skills, soft skills, and adaptability to unexpected environmental changes. In addition to the trained professional knowledge, students need to be more proactive in the process of self-learning and self-development in a comprehensive way. The judge said that the working environment of graduate law students is diverse, and many opportunities are open, but to become a procurator, a good lawyer, the ability to study for life must be prioritized for training.

Leading over 200 trainees, Judge Hoang Huu Thanh shared many useful tips for students when participating in job interviews. In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Thuy, Dean of The Faculty of Law at Van Lang University, also shared with students necessary skills when applying to businesses. According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Thuy, when recruiting a legal professional, businesses will need people with a strong knowledge of law in general, especially commercial, and civil law; In addition, enterprises attach importance to the experience, bravery and behavior skills of candidates showed through the interaction process.

Present at the seminar, many third-year students in Law and Economic Law expressed concerns about applying for internships at professional units as well as opportunities and positions they can apply for. According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Thuy, balancing time as well as ensuring schooling and gaining practical experience is worth encouraging. With enthusiasm, dynamism and the ability to learn quickly, students can apply for positions such as office assistant, administrative staff, secretary or lawyer assistant, etc.
