The workshop on “Agriculture Development with hi-tech application and the training requirements for human resources"

(VLU26/9/2021) – On the evening of 24 September 2021, the Institute of Applied Sciences and Technologies organized the workshop on “Agriculture Development with hi-tech application and the training requirements for human resources (HR)”. In the same event, the institute also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with OLECO – NQ Limited company.

Associate Professor Dr. Phan Phuoc Hien – Institute of Applied Sciences and Technologies’ Director; Dr. Chau Tan Phat – Deputy Director; Mr. Le Ngoc Son – Chief of Van Lang University’s Council’s Office; lecturers and students specialized in food technology, and hi-tech agriculture had attended the workshop.

The seminar’s key speakers were Dr. Dinh Minh Hiep – Director of HCMC’s Agricultural and Rural Development Department and MSc. Nguyen Phu Toan – OLECO’s Deputy General Director, Directive Member of the Agricultural and Rural Development Ministry’s Joint Agricultural Training and Practicing in Israel. The event also welcomed various experts and leaders from local and international Agricultural Departments.

In the event’s first part, Dr. Dinh Minh Hiep reported on the “Development program for plants, animals and hi-tech agriculture in Ho Chi Minh City for the 2020 – 2023 period.His speech provided helpful information about promoting the application of biotechnology, IT, and automation in cultivating plans under the city’s current projects and strategies. According to Dr. Hiep: “Van Lang University plays an essential role in providing the workforce for Ho Chi Minh City and other southern provinces. I hope the students could dedicate and offer new approaches to creating more value for agricultural and hi-tech agriculture products.” Mr. Le Ngoc Son – Chief of Van Lang University’s Council’s Office, also said: “We will need more time, resources, and improvements to practice this study. If we could satisfy those requirements and invest our best efforts, I believe we could make a big step forward shortly.”

MSc. Nguyen Phu Toan – ELECO’s Deputy Director, Directive Member of the Agricultural and Rural Development Ministry’s Joint Agricultural Training and Practicing in Israel, introduced the curriculum and schedule of the exchange program in Israel. He also pointed out the student’s advantages when engaging, studying, and enhancing their skills thanks to the experiential studies in a hi-tech agricultural country.

At the same workshop, the Institute of Applied Sciences and Technologies at Van Lang University had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with OLECO, focusing on helping Hi-tech Agriculture and Food Technology students practice and promote their experience and skills in Israel. By attending the exchange studies, the students could practice their knowledge, learn the advantages and contribute to the country’s development, and help make Vietnam’s Agriculture sustainable. The cooperative partnership with OLECO should also help students work at the farms to get experience while earning income to supply for their study abroad.
