Faculty of Automotive Technology organized online seminars with international professors

(VLU, 02/8/2021- Creating opportunities for international integration for students during their studies, on July 30, 2021, Faculty of Automotive Technology invited Prof. Dr. Dung-An Wang of National Chung Hsing University and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chen-Yeon CHU of Feng Chia University, Taiwan to teach online 2 auto topics in English to students of Course 25 and Course 26.

As part of the exchange program with foreign professors through English-language classes for students of the faculty, on July 30, 2021, the Faculty of Automotive Technology invited Prof. Dr. Dung-An Wang of the Institute of Precision Mechanics of National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan teaches the topic "What's the Future for Mechanical Design Engineers?"

The seminar was attended by more than 130 students of class 25 and all lecturers of the Faculty of Automotive Technology. All students were excited to participate because for the first time they heard directly from a leading professor in the field of precision mechanical design applied in the subject Principle of Machine Parts. In addition to specialized knowledge in mechanics, the professor also shared research experiences and future trends in machine design in the machine building industry.

Although the duration of the seminar was not long, students of Automotive Engineering Technology had access to relevant technology orientations of the industry. This is the first step for them to supplement their knowledge and determine their learning direction for the remaining years at school. In addition, they will equip English skills to continue pursuing their dream of continuing to improve their level after graduating in advanced countries.

Following the success of the seminar with Prof. Dr. Dung-An Wang for the 25th class, on July 31, 2021, the Faculty continued to invite Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chen-Yeon CHU of Feng Chia University, a leading expert in the field of Fuel Cell, taught the topic "Hybrid vehicle & Plug-in Hybrid vehicle." The seminar was also attended by about 70 people of the 26th class, especially those who are studying in the Faculty's Special Training Program. The program has painted a special picture of electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and alternative fuels in the future of the industry car.

Immediately after the presentation, many students boldly exchanged and confidently asked questions in English with the professors about issues such as the life cycle of hydrogen-powered cars, the ability to compete with electric cars, Tesla invented the wireless charging Nikola electric car, etc.

Once again, the Faculty of Automotive Technology found that Faculty students in particular and Van Lang University students in general were very confident in their ability to communicate in English when given the opportunity to regularly approach professors in the school's training programs. After the thematic lecture, the professors also gave compliments to the students of Van Lang University for being confident, brave and very active.

At the end of 2 thematic talks, although the teaching and discussion time is not much, this is a great effort of the staff, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Automotive Technology during this time of. social distancing. This success is due to the great support and encouragement from the School Board of Directors and the Training Department. This is a joy and a motivation for the faculty to continue to strive more in the faculty's career of developing people.
