SPECIAL POLICIES AT VAN LANG UNIVERSITY

10 – 12% deduction on annual/ semester tuition fees for siblings studying at Van Lang University. The University will offer a 10% tuition fee deduction for siblings of graduated students and 12% for two or more siblings enrolling simultaneously.

In the AY 2020 – 2021, Van Lang University grants tuition fees deductions for 1,734 students engaging in policies for siblings. There are 954 cases of siblings enrolling simultaneously and 780 cases of siblings of a graduate student. The schemes promote meaningful ideas and encouragements for generations of the Van Lang family.

Van Lang University also offers tuition fees relief in the following circumstances

  • Students whose either parent is an alumnus of the University will get a 10% tuition fees deduction for an academic year.
  • Students whose either parent is a current staff of the University will get a 50% tuition fees deduction for an academic year.
  • Students among poor households (certified by the local authority) will get a 15% tuition fees deduction for a semester.
  • Orphaned students will get a 20% tuition fees deduction for a semester.
  • Disabled or vulnerable students will get a 15% tuition fees deduction for a semester.
  • Students of the ethnic minority living in impoverished regions will get a 10% tuition fees reduction for a semester.
  • Students whose either parent receives financial support for labor accidents will get an 8% tuition fee reduction for a semester.

FINANCIAL SUPPORTS ACCORDING TO THE STATE’S REGULATIONS

During the study at Van Lang University, aside from the mentioned policies, the students will acquire the rights and social policies regulated by the State.

From AY 2015 – 2016 to AY 2020 – 2021, the financial aids and tuition fees relief policies for the students of non-public institutions are according to the regulations of the permanently residing region.

For students benefiting from the policies regulated by the State, the University shall consider and offer additional financial aids funded from the University’s budget (once per semester.)

Financial Aids Policies for AY 2020 - 2021

  • Students whose either parent is a martyr get a 30% tuition fees deduction for a semester.
  • Students whose either parent is a 2/3 – 3/3 invalid get a 10% tuition fees deduction for a semester.
  • Students whose either parent is a 1/4 – 2/4 invalid get a 12% tuition fees deduction for a semester.
  • Students whose either parent is a 3/4 – 4/4 invalid get an 8% tuition fees deduction for a semester.

Students must complete the application for one-off financial aid, including:

  • Application for tuition fees deduction/reimbursement;
  • A certified copy of relevant documents (certificate of martyr/invalid…);
  • A certified copy of the birth certificate;
  • Form No3A

(Note: Students may come to the HUB office at VLU’s main campus or campus 1 to get instructions on applying for financial aid.)

Once the University approves the application, the students must submit the whole package to the department of labor, war invalids, and social affairs of the district to be considered for the tuition relief and financial aid regulated by the State.
