Young Vietnamese Music Talents Live Concert: launching Van Lang Television Theater

(Admission and Communication Office- Van Lang, 16/08/2019- On the evening of August 15th, 2019, at Trinh Cong Son Hall (Campus 3, Van Lang University), the Piano Rectital Live Concert introduced 02 young piano talents Nguyen Dang Quang and Pham Tran Trang Anh. This first event marked the operation of Van Lang Television Theater - a professional art space in Van Lang University.

tai nang am nhac tre 1At the beginning of the concert, the song “Van Lang University (Văn Lang đại học đường)” was proudly performed by the Student Art Club choir – Faculty of Public Relations and Arts - Van Lang University.

Assoc. Prof.  Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu - Rector of Van Lang University respectfully delivered the speech to introduce Van Lang Television Theater: “Today's concert is part of a series of events to celebrate 25th anniversary of Van Lang University. Hopefully, Van Lang Television Theater will be the first choice for many international events, serving not only for the music and arts programs in the school but also the venue for artists to perform. The theater also promotes opportunities for students to create, approach, and explore different types of arts and culture. I am very pleased that Van Lang is on the right track in the process of "internationalizing universities" of HCM City People's Committee. Hereby, I would like to congratulate the Faculty of Public Relations and Arts for successfully designing training program for 2 majors, namely Piano and Vocal. Sincerely thanks to the Board of Directors, Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music as well as artists and functional areas of Van Lang University for supported this successful concert.”

tai nang am nhac tre 3Mr. Bui Quang Do - Chairman of the Board of Directors - Van Lang University presented flowers to congratulate and introduce the Management Board of Van Lang Television Theater under the guidance of Duong Trong Dat - Journalist, Director and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Ngoc Doanh - Head of Department of Public Relations and Arts.

tai nang am nhac tre 4The powerful conductor of Van Lang Concert on August 15th, 2019 was Meritorious Artist Tran Vuong Thach - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Symphony Orchestra (Saigon Symphony Orchestra). Under the control of Meritorious Artist Tran Vuong Thach, HBSO orchestra performed the first repertoire "OUVERTURE" - the famous melody from Carmen - the last opera by Georges Bizet – a famous French composer.

With the theme of "Vietnam Young Music Talents", the concert introduced two outstanding young pianists with excellent achievements in recent international music competitions.

Piano talent Pham Tran Trang Anh brought emotional moments to the auditorium with melodious melodies through the performance of Piano Concerto No3 in C Minor, OP.37 by talented composer Ludwig van Beethoven in 1800. She was born in 1998, graduated from Rueil-Malmaison Conservatory, Nanterre University (France) - majored in Piano.

With excellent skill and spirit on the stage and his "pinnacle" performance, Dang Quang evoked elated feelings to audience at Van Lang Hall with the Piano Concerto in A Minor, OP.16 by the famous Norwegian composer - Edvard Hagerup Grieg. Dang Quang was born in 1998, excellently graduated from a 9-year Intermediate program at Vietnam National Academy of Music. He is studying Piano at Montreal University, Canada. He inherits the musical talents from his family members (his father is Quoc Trung - musician, and his mother is Thanh Lam - singer).

Trinh Cong Son Hall was designed according to international and modern standards with capacity of nearly 1,600 seats. The size and interior design of the hall contributes to an impressive and unique space. The floors and walls are made of soundproof wood which can make sure that all activities taking place in the hall cause no disturbance to the outside. Inside the hall, the sound and light system is well designed for music shows and concerts. In the future, the students and staff will have more opportunities to enjoy the excellent arts right at the University.
