Since its establishment in 2017, Van Lang University’s Faculty of Law has welcomed two academic cohorts. After the first Law Day held in April 2018, this new school year, the Faculty of Law moved this traditional event earlier to the first semester and held it on a larger scale and with more attractive contents. Numerous students from not only the Faculty of Law but also other Faculties joined the event.

15 ‘law stalls’ in the Law Day

The Law Day was held in Lobby C, Campus no.2, and in Auditorium C001, with appropriate contents in the 15 ‘law stalls’ hosting quizzes in the form of multiple-choice questions. Each stall featured a category of law, such as Economic Law, Criminal Law, Civil Law, Traffic Safety Law, Cyberspace Security Law (Network Security Law) and so on. Depending on each stall, successful answerers of a certain number of questions will receive small gifts from the Board of Organizers.

12 contestants, divided into 4 teams, went into a short oratory contest. They have the opportunity to demonstrate their legal, economic and social knowledge as well as presentation and debate skills in an allowed period of time. The best 2 teams were honored by getting to wear the bachelor's gown, marking their stepping into the final.

This year, the questions for the oratory contest were carefully considered and selected by the judges. They belonged to “hot” topics in our current affairs, from the legal battle between Vinasun and Grab, the recognition of same-sex marriage, to the issue of the number of legal company representatives required in order to sign a contract – a strength of students from the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration. The oratorical talent of the teams created a pleasant and thrilling atmosphere..

The Law Day of the school year of 2018 - 2019 (in its 2nd year of consecutive implementation) took place successfully with the coordination between the Faculty of Law and the Youth Union and the Student Union of the University, with the enthusiastic participation of the students. The participation of students from the Faculties of Tourism, Foreign Languages, Finance - Accounting, Commerce and Business Administration, and Architecture, and so forth added color to this delightful academic extra-curricular activity of the Faculty of Law. This success is largely due to the Board of Organizers’ painstaking planning of the event, the dynamism and resourcefulness of students of Faculty of Law and the enormous publicity given to the event by the Van Lang University Fanpage.

Amidst the exciting November atmosphere of the cultural-art-performance season of Van Lang University students, the Law Day was seemingly unattractive but turned out "unbelievably attractive"! This is a great activity for students of Van Lang University that helps them to learn legal knowledge, review knowledge, and hone oratorical skill. It is the intent of the organizers to increase awareness of the law and compliance to it in students of Van Lang University by presenting and inputting the most familiar legal knowledge with vivid examples to the students. Have fun and learn useful knowledge – that is the motto of the event! It is fun to learn!
